Changes to EYFS Rules around Paediatric First Aid

In 2025 the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) requirements in regards to first aid changed. In order to mitigate risk of choking, all childcare and school settings must now have qualified Paediatric First Aid trained staff members present whenever children are eating.

This covers all Childcare, Nursery, Pre-Schools, Alternative provision, schools and other settings that come under EYFS governance.

Staff can either complete the 2 Day Paediatric First Aid training course or the Blended Paediatric First Aid course (Online Learning + 1 Classroom day).

Anglian Training can offer both Open Sessions (your team coming to us) and In-House Courses (our Trainers coming to you) in Paediatric First Aid.

OPEN COURSES – These run in Norwich, Ipswich, Kings Lynn, Sheringham, Great Yarmouth and soon to be Bury St Edmunds too. These are £140pp + VAT please see our open course schedule for dates.

IN-HOUSE COURSES – Our Trainers can come to your setting at a time that best suits you, whether this be an inset day, twilight sessions or just as part of the normal school day. Lots of our schools find that the Blended option, with the 1 classroom day split over two twilights has minimal impact on the school day. In-house groups of up to 12 are £850 + VAT (split course fees do apply)
