First Aid Safety Update – Contaminated Cleansing Wipes

Some non-sterile alcohol free cleansing wipes have been found to be contaminated with bacteria including:

  • Burkholderia Stabilis
  • Pluralibacter gergovaie

These bacteria can cause serious infections particularly in

  • Immunocompromised individuals
  • People with cystic fibrosis
  • People with intravenous lines

First aid kits should be checked immediately and wipes disposed of.

  3. Steroplast Sterowipe alcohol free
  4. Microsafe moist wipe alcohol free
