  • Duration: 6 Hours

Portable Appliance Testing is an electrical safety test that is carried out on all electrical appliances with a plug. Hardwired electrical items do not require PAT testing as they are not portable and do not have a plug.

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 places a legal responsibility on employers, organisations, schools, landlords, charities and the self-employed to take reasonable steps to ensure that no danger results from the use of portable electrical equipment. This means all portable appliances at your place of work have to be regularly tested to ensure they are safe to use.

Our entry level PAT testing course seeks to provide staff who may be required to conduct portable appliance testing in-house within the company with the knowledge and skills to safely conduct inspections. Our course follows the IET Code of Practice (currently 5th edition).
